Dr. Peter Amann, CEO - TFL Group has decided to retire by end of 2020.

Dr. Peter Amann and the Supervisory Board of TFL, have agreed that Dr. Amann will retire from his role as CEO at the end of the year. Dr Amann has led TFL for 13 years and will soon reach retirement age, and he and the board have agreed it is the right time to complete a handover of his CEO responsibilities. Dr. Amann will then join the Supervisory Board of the company from January 2021 to continue to support the management and strategic direction of the company.

"It is the right timing for me personally, for private reasons, but also from a business point of view. TFL is well positioned in the market and, with the integration of the OLC Business from LANXESS, my successor and executive colleagues will build the strongest player in the global leather chemicals market. I wish them all the best and success in the coming years. I have no doubt at all, they are the best team in the industry, and highly competent and professional. I take this opportunity to thank our customers for their loyalty and support during all those years and assure them that TFL will continue to serve the leather industry with utmost professionality. I also extend my sincere thanks to all suppliers and collaborators and, last but not least, to all employees for their continuous support to me and to the company", Peter Amann comments.

Dr. Peter Amann will stay with TFL and take on a position in the supervisory board.

"I have been privileged to be part of this great company and had the opportunity to shape it and work with wonderful people within the industry. While I am chemist by education, the leather virus got hold of me early on in my career! Leather is a wonderful product and deserves to be treated with respect, by this I mean the story of leather has to be told correctly and innovation will bring it back into consumers mind. I look forward to supporting the management of TFL and my Supervisory Board colleagues in the continued development of our industry and its wonderful products", Peter Amann states.

In 1996, following a number of years in technical and commercial roles in Europe, Dr. Peter Amann moved to Hong Kong to lead TFL's third largest subsidiary and the "regional centre" for Asia. He became Managing Director of TFL Hong Kong Ltd, and Senior Vice President of TFL Group. After 7 years in Hong Kong, Peter returned to Europe in 2002 to TFL Ledertechnik AG to supervise Production, Research and Purchasing for the TFL Group. He also headed the Wet-End West Division and was responsible for Sales, Marketing and the Supply Chain. Since April 2007 he has been CEO for the global TFL Group. In this function, he has overseen all strategic projects and continuously developed the company to keep it on the growth path.

TFL owes its CEO, Dr. Peter Amann, a great deal as he has significantly shaped the business over the last years. The TFL Group Supervisory Board and TFL Executive Board are very grateful for his personal contribution in keeping TFL among the top companies in the leather market and pushing the latest developments to maintain a leading position even in a difficult market environment.
